A Driving School That Understands Young Drivers

Being a Sponsor

Let's Learn More About What Is Involved In Being a Sponsor.

"I’ve been thinking about becoming a sponsor for my child’s driving journey. Can you tell me more about what it involves?"

Parent

"Absolutely. To be an effective sponsor, you should ideally have a full driver's license for at least two years, preferably five, and around 100,000 kilometers of driving experience. Your role is as significant as mine in helping your child become a safe and responsible driver."

Driving Instructor

"What exactly would I need to do as a sponsor?"

Parent

"Your primary task is to support and complement the training your child receives from their Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). You’ll help them practice in different driving conditions and environments, using the EDT learner logbook for planning and tracking progress."

Driving Instructor

"How do I use the logbook effectively?"

Parent

"The logbook is where I’ll provide feedback after each lesson. You can use this to structure your child’s practice sessions outside of formal lessons, focusing on areas that need improvement or further practice."

Driving Instructor

"So, I need to plan their practice sessions?"

Parent

"Yes, you’ll schedule practice drives between formal lessons and ensure these sessions align with the training plan. It’s also helpful to re-familiarize yourself with the rules of the road, as this will benefit both you and your child."

Driving Instructor

"Should I coordinate with you as well?"

Parent

"Definitely. It’s beneficial to meet with me before starting your role as a sponsor. We can discuss how to best support your child’s learning, plan practice sessions, and I can offer support for your role as a sponsor. You might even find it helpful to join your child for a lesson to understand the format and how you can provide the best support."

Driving Instructor

"It sounds like a significant commitment."

Parent

"It is. Being chosen as a sponsor means your child trusts your ability to guide them towards being a safe driver. It requires time, effort, and commitment, but it’s a rewarding role."

Driving Instructor

"And what about starting the EDT program?"

Parent

"For EDT, we have a convenient booking platform where you can choose from a list of expert driving instructors. Once you select an instructor, you can easily schedule, reschedule, or cancel lessons. Our instructors will guide your child through each EDT lesson at their own pace, preparing them to confidently pass the driving test."

Driving Instructor

"And we can change instructors if needed?"

Parent

"Absolutely. Our goal is to empower your child to succeed, not just in passing the test, but in becoming a confident and responsible driver."
